SendSteed Update – Switch List Automatically

A function that several members have been asking is…

A way to automatically move subscribers to another List after completing the Email Series in the existing list.

This function is now available.

How It Works?

Let’s say you have 2 Lists.

List A has 18 days of emails in its Email Series; List B has 100 days of emails in its Email Series .

After your subscribers in List A have completed 18 days of emails, on the 19th day, you want to move the subscribers to List B, and start them on Day 3 of the 100-day Email Series in List B.

Here’s how to do it…

1) Set up an Email Episode for Day 19

2) Under the Action option, select ‘Switch list‘.

Then you’ll see the form below:

In arrow 1, select the List to switch to.

In arrow 2, enter 3 (because in the above example, we want to start the subscribers on Day 3 of the Email Series in the new List).

Click Save Changes.

That’s all.

On day 19, the subscriber will be moved to List B and receive Day 3 of the Email Series in List B, followed by Day 4 the next day and on and on.

Possible Q&A

After the switch, will the Subscriber exist in both list?

No. The Subscriber will be deleted from the old list and will only exist in the new list.

What if the Subscriber already exists in the new list?

The Subscriber will still be deleted from the old list, but the Subscriber will start receiving Email Series from the new list based on your specified start day.

Can I switch list through a link clicked by the subscriber?

This function is not yet available. Today’s update only allows you to switch list through Email Series.

Can I switch list manually?

Yes. This option is already available. It is not a new function.

Click the edit icon next to a subscriber. You’ll see an option to ‘Move This Subscriber To Another List‘.

Will Share Code import the switch list setting?

Yes, but the ‘switch to’ List will be the List ID you have set. It will not work in other people’s account.

In the absence of a valid List, the email series will just stop at the previous day.

The receiver of your Share Code will have to update the List ID manually. You can simplify the process by setting up a Replacer. (You can learn more about Share Code Replacer here.)

A Word Of Advice

Automation is always a GIGO (garbage in, garbage out) system.

Avoid doing complicated automation or you may risk confusing yourself and your subscribers.

  1. Good, two issues I’m having with leadsleap

    1) double opt-in ( it’s bad, we know it)

    2) 3-party java script (Leadsleap can be great website builder for offers on marketplaces like warrior plus, or etc. But with this java restrictions it’s not possible.)

    Sincerely,
    Jakub

    1. Both issues are for the stability of the system, i.e. welfare of all members.

      1) Without double opt-in, there will be a lot (really a lot) more fraudulent opt-in, which will eventually get the mail servers banned.

When that happens, all members cannot send email.

      2) All it takes is one malicious js script and the entire domain will be flagged.

When that happens, all members’ page links will not work.

I’m sorry that we can’t risk that even a little.

      1. I admit I always like single optin better, but I see what you mean and I am getting high quality optins and clicks! Leads Leap SendSteed is better for marketers than Getresponse and Aweber. Glad I made this my main email autoresponder of choice now.

  2. This feature is worth thousands of dollars alone for me! Thanks so much for always improving this platform while keeping the price soooo low! You are amazing…

  3. Whoop, Whoop, Amazing work once again. You’re always providing the best service to us all. Thanks a million 👍 and keep up the great work 🙂

  4. I love all the new features which makes LeadsLeap the best. I would love to see an option to send a broadcast to selected subscribers only. Sometimes I get a request from a subscriber that lost a specific email in the series I send out and they want me to send them the info again. Would that be possible Kenneth?

    1. You can add a tag to selected subscribers and send a broadcast based on tag.

But for your specific example, it is easier to simply send a private email. Or you can edit the email series ‘Day’ of that subscriber by clicking the edit icon next to the subscriber’s email.

  5. Not only is it great that we can move people between lists like this, but I love that we can choose what day they start on. Thanks.

  6. The more I use LeadsLeap the more features I discover. Once I start using them I can’t stop. Will try this new for sure. Thank you Kenneth.

  7. This is a very cool and advanced feature. Thank you so much for adding this and giving us more flexibility and control over our email lists! Sendsteed ranks up there with Aweber and GetResponse and should soon take over as I’ve had numerous issues with both of those 3rd party autoresponders.

    Leads Leap rocks!!

  8. This is going to be very helpful. Great feature! Saves me from scratching my head working around the issue. Thanks a lot.

  9. I love every aspect of Leadsleap and so glad I switched from GR hehe! Thank you Ken for an awesome product. Support is excellent as well!

  10. I was just thinking about how great it would be if LeadsLeap had a feature like this the other day, and then here comes this update! Thanks Ken, really appreciate all the effort you put into making LeadsLeap better and better.

  11. This is very good news. Thanks for giving us the option to automate the process of moving subscribers across from one list to another.

  12. Two questions:

    1) Where do we set this up at? I’m confused 😕

    2) will the system automatically move ALL the subscribers or do we have to move them one at a time?

    1. 1) It’s set up in the Email Episode Editor. If you do not know what it is, go to Email Series and learn how to set up an email series from the tutorial there.

      2) This function is meant to move subscribers, one by one, as and when they reach Day ‘X’ of the existing Email Series, and the move happens automatically. It is not a function to mass-move all subscriber to another list.

        1. Misty, you’ve just joined today. Of course you will be lost because this blog post is not for you.

As a new member, you should just refer to our tutorial as a guide, because our tutorial teach things from the beginning.

Blog is a place for updates. Certain updates only make sense for experienced members.

  13. Great addition. I can’t believe how good Leadsleap is. I was a member for years and did not do anything with it until 4 months ago. Truly impressed. Finally a system that works how it should be. Thanks Kenneth, blessed to be here.

  14. I love this. I am a newbie and lots to learn. I know I will get the support. Thank you…I am happy and ready to learn.
