Page Builder Update- Inline Text Editor

Our Page Builder previously relied on a traditional Rich Text Editor for editing text content.

However, there was a persistent issue: the editor always had a white background.

This became a problem when you tried to style your text with light or white colors. You could barely see what you were typing!

See the example below:

We explored a few ideas to fix this.

At first, we thought about replicating the background of the page, content block, and row inside the editor.

Sounds clever? It turned out to be more troublesome than it was worth. The logic behind recreating the exact background was complex, unreliable, and simply impractical.

Then we considered adding a toggle to switch the editor background to black.

While that helped with readability for light-colored text, it is manual and unintuitive.

Eventually, we landed on the most practical solution, one that is already used by many modern page builders, for good reason!

It is an inline text editor.

Instead of using a separate editor, you now edit your text directly on the page.

There’s no need to guess the background or toggle background color. What you see is exactly what you get.

From now on, when you use the Page Builder, you’ll notice the old editor is gone.

In its place, you’ll see a simple button like this:

Click the button to activate inline editing.

Or even better…

Just double-click the text to start editing right away!

Watch the demo below to see it in action:

This update not only solves the visibility issue but also streamlines the editing experience. It’s faster, cleaner, and more intuitive.

Go ahead and try it out. You’ll love how easy it feels to make changes directly on your page!

We had to deal with the editing issue as we could.
It’s amazing to know that you had our back all this while.

    Thanks Kenneth.

  5. This change is absolutely fantastic! For me not the colors was the biggest problem but the extremely small font in the text editor. As I am very shortsighted while changing anything I’ve already written I had to guess (usually incorrectly) where to place the cursor. Now, when I can really see what I’m doing I can finally stop yearning for an old fashioned WYSIWYG HTML editor. :)
    Thank you very much!!!!

  6. Excellent improvement, thank you. Kenneth has done it again 🎉

  9. Hi, I actually figured it out by accident…

I was doing my editing and noticed the keyboard

edit tool appeared to the the right… and clicked on it..

then i hit it twice and saw edit toggle and started to print

directly on page…9after double clicking)…yes this looks much easier now…

I love the ‘being able to type over background as well
with another color than just black or white…
