Most free domain hosting services have some kinds of limitation. Some may not support certain scripting, some may not provide database and some may disable cron settings.
Recently, one of our members recommended a totally free domain hosting service. I helped him to set up our List Builder Script on the server and I’m truly impressed with this free domain hosting service.
Here’re what I like about this free domain hosting service:
1) It’s totally ads free.
2) It uses Cpanel website control panel (this is very important!)
3) It provides Awstat traffic stat (a useful tracking tool).
3) It provides unlimited mysql database, pop3 emails.
4) It supports most scripting, including php, cgi, perl etc.
In short, it has almost everything I need for domain hosting. If you are running a small site such as a simple squeeze page or content website, it should be good enough. Moreover, it’s totally free!
Pitfalls Of Using Free Domain Hosting
I recommend this free domain hosting service because of its excellent technical feature, but in general, I discourage beginners from using any free domain hosting because of 2 important reasons:
1) It will greatly reduce your chance of online success
If you ask me what is the most important factor in online success, I’ll tell you it’s your commitment.
Are you TRYING to make some money online or you MUST make money online?
Most beginners are not committed. If you are a newbie and you say you are 100% committed, you are lying. I’m quite sure about that!
Want to know how most beginners become committed? They become committed when their pockets hurt!
I wasn’t committed to personal success until I spent more than $30k attending all kinds of success seminars. I wasn’t committed to online success until I lost $50k in my offline business. I wasn’t committed to building Adsense websites until I subscribed to a monthly membership program.
Free domain hosting does not hurt your pocket at all, thus it will not add any pressure on you or increase your commitment to success in any way.
2) It will slow down your learning speed
Free domain hosting services can only afford to provide email support. This means whenever you have a server issue, you probably have to wait 1-2 hours (or even 12-24 hours) before you can get an answer.
Established hosting services provide instant chat support and/or telephone support. Imagine whenever you face a server issue, just launch a chat window or make a phone call and someone will be attending to your issue.
This is especially important for newbies with limited technical knowledge because they can get instant step by step guidance and ask more questions if they have doubts.
Nevertheless, if you know what you are doing and you’re looking for a totally free domain hosting, what I’ve recommended would be a good one in my opinion.
Update (28 Aug 2009): The site is down for more than 14 days. I tried to contact the admin. Initially they fixed problems and replied my emails. But now they seem to ignore my emails. I’ve given up hope. Another pitfall of using free domain hosting!
Super free hosting site . Wow I’ve never heard of that one. I currently use hostgator which comes with a whole batch of free templates and pretty good service.
THere is also 000webhost.com and bravehost.com which provide free hosting. It’s great to know there are still freebies in existence
Thanks for your great tips again
Its must be painful for you to lost that total of 80K!
Sometime we take free things for granted. By paying, it can constantly remind us of getting to our goals.
I’m getting Hostgator as well. They have good affiliate program. I thought I should try out myself before promoting their services.
Thanks for this information, Kenneth.
Currently, I use Tripod and I am satisfied with it (except with the support )
But I’ll try this free domain hosting and I’ll run a squeeze page. I’ll try to set up the List Builder Script in the same time.
Thanks again for this interesting tip.
Thanks for the tip. It will be perfect to use for some mini-sites I intend to create. It’s not often one gets a free service of good quality.
Thanks so much Kenneth for doing the research for us. We have some of our domains (and websites) hosted on speedfox. It’s not one I would recommend. We want to move all of our domains and sites from there to another server so I really appreciate the recommendation.
Uh………….GOOGLE, anyone?! I mean really. All you have to do is type in a phrase like, “free domain hosting”, and out pops a result like this;
http://www.freewebsiteproviders.com/free-domain-hosting.php
Or haven’t you noticed the plethora of assaultive banners on sites and blogs trumpeting the free hosting of websites and domains that are virtually tattooed on yer eyeballs only about every six seconds, or when you site surf and tribalfusion beans you with an unavoidable popup. I mean, in this day and age where 8-yr olds are on Windows Live TV commercials, you can’t get it together enough to even try the simplest of tactics of info location, I can’t wait to see how you handle something as complex as server migration, lol!
This is just the thing I’m looking for to recommend to my affiliates/downlines.
Great info Kenneth (as per usual ;-)
Greg.
I like what Kenneth says about commitment. Most people online are just “toe-dipping” because they are afraid. We are afraid of what we don’t know or understand. I advise you to get some online education, get rid of the fear and then jump in all the way.
Great place to get online education is <a href=”http://bit.ly/n1709″http://bit.ly/n1709
Best of luck to you.

Hi,
Thanks for your great tips. I currently use the UKs lowest price domains -Heart Internet scheme you can earn 10% commission on all domain and hosting sales by referring new customers online. Great Value Domain Names! Click Here Now! And http://tinyurl.com/qdjhwt , http://tinyurl.com/dytwqc http://tinyurl.com/rxxq8j , They all have good affiliate program.
Sooner or later everyone realizes that they must have their own web site. However, most hosts simply provide you with space and that’s that. Affiliate hosting program changed all that turn a necessity into a profit machine.
If you have to have a host anyway, why not choose one that pays you back? That’s my idea.
HAVE A NICE DAY.

Kenneth, i’m an affiliate with (Leadsleap).
I signed up for the free offer from my leadsleap site,
(http://websitehostingdot.com) for a free website to hopefully get me started online, but i never received any email confirmation, i signed up on 8/8/09 & it was supposed to be up & ready in 12 hours, i still want the hosting/domain site, i feel that this will really help me to get a very good start on things, as most all promoting cost so much, we all need a break.
Could you reply back to me & let me know what i do i next, thanks.
HI.
It says on the webpage
Here’re what I like about this free domain hosting service:
1) It’s totally ads free.
2) It uses Cpanel website control panel (this is very important!)
3) It provides Awstat traffic stat (a useful tracking tool).
3) It provides unlimited mysql database, pop3 emails.
4) It supports most scripting, including php, cgi, perl etc.
I am also trying to set up our List Builder Script on the server. When I went to the documents for Cpanel I read that a license MUST be bought at a cost of $425.00 each per year.
Therefore unless there is a way of installing Cpanel free. It is not free.
Can anyone help please

Hi, I am a bit late, today is 8-12-09 and I am unable to access this website.
It simply says Page Load Error.

Hi Kenneth and everyone, I would to inform you that I found a cheap and good hosting at last.
Kenneth, you should be happy to recommend to all the members. Not necessary we have to depend on one Website hosting. Before I switched my domain hosting to other, I study their C-panel.
What put me to it was it can support latest Firefox and Google Chrome. At my previous with Hostgator, their sitebuilder.welcomesitebuilder.com didn’t support both. The current hosting I have, I love it. This is because I can build easily with video tutorial available inside.
Their sitebuilder namely as Rvsitebuilder.I just finished transfer by manually edit. This C-panel can support your list-builder-script :)

(My post too big, have to shorten)
Hi Kenneth,
I would like to tell you why I didn’t reply my posting into this thread earlier.
This was because I have tried that totally free domain hosting, which resulted, I failed to sign up.
I am a person like this,if I was not sure about a thing,I won’t simply give full commitment to it.
However,I have a good free hosting link for sharing to everyone.
http://www.000webhost.com/
Henry, sorry for the late reply. I know http://www.000webhost.com/. Just that when I see the above service I recommended, I saw that they offer almost no limit. That ‘wows’ me. Anyway, when things are too good to be true, it’s not true. That service is now down.
Kenneth
Kenneth,
Nice sharing info.
Believe me or not, I know many free hosting, but I don’t use them all now.
The reasons are:
1.No security
2.No Reliability
3.No better features.
4.No well accepted by SEO-Search Engine Optimizations. As far as I know,Search Engines occupied traffic for around 50%.
5.Many qualities Backlinks reject free hosting.
Ping back is the important feature. My site now ping back many links to Leadsleap’s blog :)
My current hosting isn’t that expensive. It might be the cheapest I have ever seen. For a limited time, US$1.99 per month billed in 3 years should be a nice offer.
Check it out.
Have a great day
I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don’t know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.

The discussions have been excellent on this blog post. Just wonder how anyone could beat the hosting service provided by Kiosk.ws, now re-launching as GVO. I have been with them for about 4 years and received excellent hosting services.
In addition to the hosting, one receives so many additional tools, plus an excellent income opportunity it is a no-brainer.
