Page Update – Recurring Weekly Countdown

If you’ve used our Page Builder, you’ll know that you can add a Countdown Element to your page.

Previously, the Countdown came in two modes:

1) Page Load

In this mode, you set a countdown duration, say 3 minutes. The countdown starts when the page is loaded, meaning each visitor gets their own 3-minute countdown.

This is typically used when you want to create a sense of urgency for visitors to take immediate action.

2) Fixed Time

In this mode, you set a specific end time, for example, 13 Oct 2024, 10:00 UTC. The countdown is based on this fixed end time, and all visitors see the same countdown.

This is useful when there’s an offer that ends at a particular time.

Today, we’re introducing a third mode:

3) Weekly

This mode is designed for time-sensitive offers or events with recur weekly.

It was suggested by one of our members, Earnie.

Here’s what she said:

“A lot of matrix-based programs, such as Livegood, have a weekly cut-off day. Wouldn’t it be cool to have a countdown based on a real cut-off time and day of the week, instead of using a fictional countdown, in the LeadsLeap page builder?”

If you head over to the Page Builder and add a Countdown element, you’ll notice the new Weekly mode (see arrow 1).

You just need to set the Reset Day and Hour in UTC (see arrow 2 above). The countdown will reset each week on the selected Day and Hour.

For example, if you have an offer that ends at 12 a.m. UTC every Monday, you would set the Reset Day to “Monday” and the Reset Hour to “00”

The timer will count down to Monday at 12 a.m., then automatically reset and start counting down to the next Monday at 12 a.m.

Other Application

In addition to matrix-based program cut-off times, the weekly countdown is also useful for events like webinars.

For instance, if you promote a webinar that recur on every Sunday at 4 p.m., you can use this countdown to encourage people to opt in before the webinar starts.

US Daylight Saving Adjustment

If your offer or event adjusts for US Daylight Saving Time, you can click the Daylight Saving option (see arrow 3).

For example, if a weekly offer or webinar runs at 9 a.m. EST (1300 UTC) and 9 a.m. EDT (1200 UTC), you would set the Reset Hour to 1300 UTC (i.e., 9 a.m. EST). During daylight saving periods, the system will automatically adjust the Reset Hour to 1200 UTC (i.e., 9 a.m. EDT).

With this new Weekly Countdown mode, you now have even more flexibility in promoting time-sensitive offers and events. Whether you’re promoting a weekly webinar, a matrix-based program, or organizing weekly promotions, this feature makes it easy to display accurate countdowns for recurring deadlines. Be sure to explore this new option in the Page Builder to enhance your pages and drive more engagement!
