ManyHit is a hybrid traffic exchange, with both manual and auto surfbars. Like all traffic exchanges, the concept of ManyHit is simple - to view web pages of other members in exchange for them viewing yours. Usually, people join traffic exchanges and surf there because they want to promote their own pages, but you can also just use them to see what offers are out there without having something to advertise yourself.

The manual surfbar gives both credits and small amounts of cash as rewards for surfing. There is a sliding scale, so surfing more pages in a day gets you progressively more. Rewards start at 0.6 credits and 3/100 of a cent per page, and by surfing at the 21st page moves up to 1 credit per view.

I find the autosurf to be more interesting. It has a browser based surfbar, that will run in any navigator. It is not necessary to log in. You can simply enter your autosurf URL and the browser will start automatically visiting pages and earning you credits. You can run the autosurf in browsers on multiple computers too, so long as they have different IP addresses. For example, you could leave your home computer autosurfing, and then in the office load your autosurf URL to get double the amount of credits.

Autosurfing on a single computer will get you around 150 credits per hour.

ManyHit also has integrated banner and text advertising options, similar to those offered by most manual traffic exchanges. There is a single type of credit used for both banner and text ads, which is a little different to the manual exchanges, which usually have separate credits for the two categories. ManyHit autosurfing also grants you 1 banner/text credit for each view, so if you are autosurfing there, you may as well also put up some banners.

Another feature many people could find interesting is that ManyHit has Chinese as well as English versions of its web page.

ManyHit requires manual approval of all web sites, banner and text ads. This usually takes less than 24 hours for me.

A significant limitation of the autosurf is that there are no controls on the traffic you will get. No bounce reduction, no geotargeting, no variable visit length and so on. Depending on your intended application, this could rule ManyHit out as a useful tool.

If you just want visits, I think the ease of pasting your ManyHit surf URL into a couple of browsers makes it one of the simplest ways to generate fairly high traffic automatically.
