As a banner exchange, Banner Adz provides for trading views of web banners. Users can copy and paste a snippet of HTML to place in their web pages. This snippet will display the banners of other Banner Adz members in the spot where it was placed on the page. Then you can set the banners you want to promote within the Banner Adz site, and those will show up in other people's pages, where they have placed the snippet.

What makes Banner Adz stand out is that it is a 1:1 exchange, displaying your banners once for each time you display those of other users on your site. Among banner exchanges, I have found this to be a rarity. Most only give you credit for 1 view for every 2 on your snippet.

Banner Adz also provides a splash page for promoting them, as part of their affiliate program. You earn 1 banner view credit for each 24 hour unique view of the page. This is also better than other banner exchanges, which typically give from 0.1 to 0.5 credits for splash page views.

Free accounts can have up to 3 banners. Upgrading gives access to more banner slots, up to 30 for the highest level, as well as credits and complimentary banner views on their splash pages.

An important limitation is that only 468x60 standard web banners are supported. In my experience, larger banners such as 300x250 (Medium Rectangle) get considerably higher click though rates.

Another drawback is that view delivery rate is rather slow. With a free account I got only hundreds of views a day. In the banner advertising world, where 468x60 banners get 1 click per thousands of views, this is extremely low, almost unusable. You could be looking at a click per week, and if your offers take say a dozen clicks per sale or signup, that might leave you with only a handful a year. Nevertheless, if your web pages are not collecting more than a couple hundred views per day, then the rate is fine. In that case, a 1:1 banner exchange such as Banner Adz would probably outperform a 2:1 exchange since it doesn't cut your credits in half.

I recommend Banner Adz for use with pages receiving fairly low amounts of traffic. In those cases, the 1:1 exchange ratio makes Banner Adz an efficient program for fueling your own banner advertising.
